I don't understand this documentary. The Greek economy is booming. The country is no longer the sick man of Europe. After years of crisis, the Greek economy grew by almost 6 percent last year, more than the Dutch growth of 4.5 percent. For the Greeks, it feels like just yesterday: the moment in 2010 when it was revealed that the government had fiddled with the budget figures. Greece was on the verge of bankruptcy. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and European countries came to the rescue with billions of euros, and in return Greece had to cut spending. The tax and legal systems also had to be overhauled. The austerity measures led to mass protests in Greece. But they worked, many reforms have been implemented, not only fiscal but also to make the economy more efficient.

So how unhealthy was he before?

People in Western countries are much angrier than this right now.

This was very interesting. I would like to know why there is such disconnect between the nature of the people who seem to be friendly and trusting, and the suspicious, tyrannical, controlling people in government. Also why the capital city is so deserted. I love the architecture though, beautiful and shapely and unlike anywhere else. My current dream destination is Greece.

Greece is f*cked because joining Euro effectively depreciated the Deutchmark and enables Germany to maintain it's trade surplus - Greece meanwhile did not benefit and had given up it's monetary sovereignty in the process. When the Eurozone crises struck after 2008, the other members could not allow Greece to leave since it would've collapsed the Eurozone - therefore Greece is held within the Eurozone prision which forces it to maintain a state of permanent austerity.

Loved every bit of this. The final monologue was masterfully worded imo. Sometimes we need to isolate ourselves (walk the jungle) in order to attune to the frequency which receives the collective psyche's broadcast. Call it god, the hive mind, the logos, the other, mother nature... whichever nomenclature you choose, its out there and it speaks to you when you less expect it. Truer words have yet to be spoken when mentioning that : one can feel lonelier around some people than in complete physical solitude.
